10 beauty advent calendars

you need this Christmas

Now that the festive season is upon us (yay!), it’s time to talk advent calendars.

Of course, chocolate is the classic advent calendar treat, but who needs chocolate when you can reveal 25 of your favourite hair and beauty products instead?

Here’s our top 10…

1. Bright and bold: MAC (£125)

This calendar is one of the more expensive, but after you’ve made your way through 24 doors of surprises, you’ll see why. From the beautifully bold Feline Eye Pencil to cult classic Velvet Teddy Lipstick, it has everything sparkle-lovers could want.

2. Christmas magic: Glossybox (£99 / £75 if you subscribe)

This year Glossy Box has released its first ever advent calendar, chock full of products from brands including NARS, Real Techniques and even a Huda Beauty highlight palette. And great news: 17 of the 25 treats are full-size products!

3. Old and new: ASOS (£55)

The Face & Body Advent Calendar from ASOS this year is full of surprises, mixing classic favourites with up-and-coming brands. As well as makeup bag staples like a trusty tube of Carmex and the Spectrum Wondersponge, you’ll find miniature pots of luxury skincare products from Sand & Sky and 111SKIN. Remember to use your student card (if you have one) for 10% off!

4. One for the Travellers: Charlotte Tilbury (£150)

Refresh your makeup bag this Christmas with the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Universe advent calendar. Filled with her best-selling products in handy travel sizes, it’s perfect for jet-setters and holiday-makers.

5. True elegance: SPACE NK (£250)

Get ready to save some serious money this Christmas, because Space NK’s very first advent calendar has arrived. The stylish purple, green and gold doors reveal over £600 worth of products, including some of our favourite brands like NARS & Drunk Elephant.

6. Great value: M&S (£35)

At a mere £35, this year’s Marks & Spencer advent calendar is an absolute steal (though be warned, you’ll have to spend an additional £35 at M&S to be allowed to buy it). Open a numbered drawer every day to find mini versions of M&S own-brand products, as well as big names like L’Occitane and REN.

7. The all-rounder: Estée Lauder Companies (£150)

This year the Estée Lauder Advent Calendar is bigger and better than ever. For a start, the beautiful star-shaped box is a work of art in itself. Once you open it up, you’ll be looking glam all Christmas with the help of beauty products from MAC, Bobbi Brown and Smashbox. This advent calendar really does have something for everyone.

8. A real treat: Harrods (£250)

It’s an expensive one (obviously). But with an actual value of £680 worth of luxury goodies, you can see why it’s so popular. Spoil yourself this Christmas with loads of makeup, hair and skin care products, perfume and even the cult favourite: Brazilian Bum Bum Cream.

9. Super skincare: Clinique (£76)

Treat yourself to 24 days of amazing skin care & makeup this Christmas. The Clinique calendar includes some of our all-time fave’s, from the well-loved chubby Stick Lip Crayon, to the unbeatable Dramatically Different Moisturiser. This is definitely one to add to your Christmas list.

10. Festive luxe: Look Fantastic (£79)

Featuring 25 magical beauty treats, the Look Fantastic advent calendar is sure to have you feeling festive. From luxury skincare treats to high-end brands, you’ll discover something special every day in the lead up to Christmas – and be looking extra glam too!

Look Fantastic also offers 15% off for students, which makes this luxury Advent Calendar a steal at £67.15, as it contains over £300 worth of beauty goodies.

Beauty calendars tend to sell out fast, so don’t take too long deciding which one to get! And when you do get yours home, promise us you’ll at least TRY not to open all the doors in one day?
