4 DIY Face Masks

To Try At Home

Treat yourself to a relaxing pamper night at home with one of our DIY face masks. They all use three ingredients that you'll most likely have in your own kitchen!

Blemish Buster

You'll need:

1 tbsp manuka honey

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp of sea salt

Mix well then apply to face. Leave on for 15 minutes then rinse off with warm water.

Manuka honey is known to have great bacteria-fighting properties, which helps to clear away any dirt from skin. The turmeric is anti-inflammatory and is great for bringing down redness. The sea salt also helps to gently exfoliate & clean the skin, then unblock pores.

Gorgeous Glow

 You'll need:

1 tbsp cacao powder

1/4 of a papaya

A squeeze of Aloe Vera gel

Mix well then apply to face. Leave on for 15 minutes then rinse off with warm water.

Aloe Vera is filled to bursting with vitamins A, C,E, B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12. It is also known to soothe and hydrate your skin. Papaya is great for exfoliating skin and also aids with dissolving dead skin cells. Cacao powder helps to boost circulation.

Green Goddess

 You'll need:

Half an avocado

1 tbsp honey

A handful of oats

Mix well then apply to face. Leave on for 15 minutes then rinse off with warm water.

Honey moisturises skin without leaving it feeling oily, it also helps with the appearance of acne scars. Oats are great for calming and soothing the skin, they also gently exfoliate to remove dead skin cells or dry patches. Avocado leaves skin feeling silky smooth.

The All-Rounder

You'll need:

1 tbsp coconut oil

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp natural yogurt

Mix well then apply to face. Leave on for 15 minutes then rinse off with warm water.

The coconut oil & natural yogurt can nourish and hydrate your skin cells while also working to protect your skin from damage and aging. Lemon is good for oily skin as it gently exfoliates to deep clean your pores.

TIPS:

1. Check sell-by dates carefully

If you wouldn’t eat it, it’s probably not a good idea to rub it on your face!

2. Do a patch test first

Just like trying out a new hair dye, it pays to do a quick patch test to see how your skin will react.

3. Use the mask on the day you make it

Ingredients exposed to air and bacteria will very quickly go off and could easily irritate the skin. To be on the safe side, make your mask with fresh ingredients and use it within an hour of mixing.
